Kofi Tanoh - “I have no problem at all”

Highlife music is said to be the oldest popular dance/music styles in Africa. It emerged in the 1980s and it was Tempos brilliant Fusion style that made an impact on Nigeria’s industry and in Ghana and encouraged the likes of Bobby Benson, Victor, Olariya and Rex Lawson to form their own Yoruba and Ibo highlife dance bands.

On Thursday September 4th 2008, A. B. Crenstil made a statement that “anyone who will say highlife music is dead he will ask the person to think again”. It is indeed really true has one of the brutal highlife artist which cannot be easily forgotten in this recent times is KOFI TANOH.

He has been one of the hitters highlife artist who has been well received in Ghana and within West Africa, with several appearance on the National television and a massive airplay across the country, Tanoh will describe last weekend has a memorable account because he was able to conquer the whole TV Africa on the Sound Splash and was also crown a hero of highlife music by the audience.

Talking to Kofi he said he started music 20 years ago but before then he was with Kojo Antwi which was where he learned more skills and knowledge about music and for long time had to travel to UK for his personal business and to prepare financially for his album “Asomemu”, since he is matured enough and also have more knowledge about music he needs not to wait for any producer to play with his dream.

Kofi Tanoh continues that he was really shocked about the way the country has accepted his music because all along he was thinking it was going to be hard to penetrate since people are crying that the music industry is dying, but for now he has not faced any problem and he is not praying for one.

Anytime you see Kofi Tanoh, Raster is there, just like Jay Q and his bottle.  He further reveals that Raster is a son to him and running his affairs when he was in the UK. And since the accident that occurs between him and the late Terry Bonchaka, Raster had to stay quit the music industry for some time for all the fake rumors to be clean on air. But for now he is ready with his new album which is yet to be dropped on air with good music like “Siasia”, “What’s up”, etc. Raster urged all Ghanaians to beware of the way they handle rumours and also thanked everybody who supported him and God for making him who he is today.

Kofi Tanoh will also like to thank everybody who have add up to his success, all DJs and Attractive.
