Lord Kenya Is Back As A 'Born Again' Musician

Lord Kenya is one of hip-life's most memorable and respected artiste of all time. He is the ONLY hiplife artiste in history to have five albums to his credit and to have broken Kojo Antwi’s record by staying on Joy FM’s Local Chart show for a long time.

For sometime now the media has been posing the question(s) - 'Where is Lord Kenya’, ‘Will He Ever Return With An Album’, and ‘Why Has He Forsaken His Fans’.

Ghana Music.com, your loyal electronic media caught up with Lord Kenya who has been missing for three years.

I know if fans of Kenya had a chance to meet him, they would ask where he has been, so we took our time to ask him that.

Ghana Music.com: Where have you been?
Lord Kenya: I have been a family person, trying to balance the equation of being an artiste and a father. I am also working on my new project. I have also given the young and fellow artistes a chance to show their talents.

Lord Kenya has been an explosive music phenomenon, and has hit the Ghanaian music industry with five albums within five years and will be hitting the industry again with his much-anticipated ‘Mount Kenya’ produced album titled ‘Born Again’.

Already fans of Kenya have been lining up at his motel to catch a glimpse of him and get copies of the album after some songs were played at Old Timers, a pub at Adabraka.

Kenya decided to open his soul by writing one of the best hiplife album ever written and does not expect much from it but it is for God to judge it and his fans to see it in a right way because “if you expect you don’t get”.

The brand new record, featuring 12 hot tracks from Lord Kenya includes ‘Born Again’ which features Ofori Amponsah and Kofi Nti, ‘Baaba’ and ‘Champion features Swazi B’.

With his young fans going crazy over songs like ‘Akasianii’, ‘Sika baa’, and some songs of his previous albums, Lord Kenya is taking it to the road with some of the hottest young artistes he has groomed on a song titled ‘Baaba’.

With over thousand albums sold and an impressive movie career (Fresh Trouble), Lord Kenya has always appointed time for his acting, music and being a family man.

For all the fans who got it popping in the clubs with new songs, you don't have to wait any longer because Kenya? has a club banger song tilted ‘Champion’ (pronounced Champiaa).

The brand new sure-fire album features Lord Kenya throwing everlasting lyrics like nothing you've ever heard before. What he has done in the past cannot be compared to now.

He has spent his career inspiring his young followers that there is a luu in everyone and if you are able to find it, you will be successful in life and always stand tall in the midst of colleagues.

“To have five rap albums within five years is challenging and I have always been humble about that”, Lord Kenya.

Asked why the ‘Akasianii’ album did not go on well, he said he did not promote it. All the same, Kuffour used it as one of his campaign songs ‘Kuffour Nie Osoro No Nie’.

Lord Kenya feels good about showbiz titles like Hiplife heavyweight, hiplife Maestro, Microphone killer because that adds more ‘flex’ to his name – Lord Kenya, and has love for fans for giving him those names.

Out of all the songs from his five albums, his favourite song is ‘Children Of Africa’.

His achievement is contributing to help humanity especially the Otumfuo Education Fund that has helped brilliant children but not educated children.

His words were he thanks God that he has made it by His grace, thanks his fans and he is happy that he still entertains them, and is now counting on them because this is the time he needs them most.

Kenya has been away for some time and we asked his thoughts about hiplife music. “Some of the artistes are not creative nowadays, They rush into studios whereas they should have ‘everlasting lyrics’ on their albums.
