Mac Tontoh Wishes Musicians Well In 2004

Mac Tontoh, founding member of Osibisa A member of the National Commission on Culture (NCC), Mr. Mac Tontoh, has called on Ghanaian musicians to bury their differences and unite, to build a better music industry in the country. According to him, the time has come for musicians to put the past behind them and concentrate on activities that will boost their image.

This was contained in his New Year message to musicians and other stakeholders in the showbiz industry in the country.

Mac Tontoh, who is also a founding member of the Osibisa, declared that there is a very bright future for the music industry and "we should all work extra hard to make it a reality."

He advised young musicians to learn to perform live on stage because that is more thrilling to the audience than miming. He said music is a very influential medium and musicians should come out with lyrics that will motivate people to pursue excellence in their various endeavours.

"Musicians need to realise their importance in society and direct their efforts towards the creation of a humane, cordial and progressive atmosphere."

He wished all musicians a Happy New Year.
