Mad Fish Raglife is a new genre of Ghanaian music that has gained popularity over the past years. We have seen the likes of Batman, Borax, Ronny, Yogi Doggy, the late Terry Bonchaka, and Abortion in this raglife game but Mad Fish who has been on the music scene for a long time has finally come out with his debut album, Max (Wone Me Baby).
Mad fish, a raglife artiste has now registered his name in the books of the famous artistes in the music industry and is doing marvelously good. His remarkable album titled Max (Wone Me Baby) remixed by Jay Q is making it big in the airwaves.
Born Raymond Kofi Frimpong on the 21st July to Mr and Mrs. J.Y. Frimpong -Manso, he hails from Asante Akim Agogo. He started schooling at Green Hill International and finally ended at Kumasi High Secondary School where he was the entertainment prefect who always stormed Kumasi schools and the city Kumasi with his hot performances. His hobbies are swimming and listening to dancehall, pure cultural music, highlife, hiplife and raglife. He is also a football fanatic of Asante Kotoko.
Speaking to Ghana Music.Com, he was asked how he got into the game. ?I started ragging since I was 12 years and I was so lucky to be raised by some Jamaicans called Ras Ronny and Naptaly, so I am deep into it?, he explained.
When he was also asked about where and how he chose Mad Fish as his stage name, he answered by saying ?It sounds crazy to be named Mad Fish, but all the same I have loved fishes since childhood and also want my music lovers to know that when the fish gets crazy under the water and later on comes out, it turns into fire on the land?
Mad Fish has been on the music scene for a long time and is no stranger to his peers in the raglife scene. He was on Billy Ocean of Peace FM?s compilation album called New Generation Part I and II. He later worked with Rhymes Records where musicians like Yogi Doggy, Kofi B and Pinocchio were. But ?Jah? been so helpful, he and his better half came out with their record label by name Mad Max Records where his new album was recorded. Mad Max Records will soon be the one of the nation?s finest labels in Ghana.
When Ghana Music.Com asked him how the album was doing on the music market, he went on saying that ?the demand is great and people want more of my music?. The manageress also added that ?with God?s help they will promote the album to a higher level to be precise internationally to make the fans know that he (Mad Fish) is here to stay?.
Currently the video clip of Max (Wone Me Baby) remix is being shown on all the Ghanaian TV stations. Asked about how he sees the sales of his album, he said ?by God?s grace, sales are picking up and the album is being purchased at a faster rate?. Mad fish used ?Gome? beats, South African rhythms and nice vocals to create a more African album that can also go international. This album is for everyone to listen to cause its has some underground, funky, african, dancehall and most of the popular types of music on it.
He was inspired by the likes of great artistes such as Mad Cobra,Bounty Killer,Hawk eye, Elephant man, Sean Paul,Mr. Vegas, Chico, Vibes Kartel and Beenie Man.
Mad Fish has been to a number of remarkable shows like Music Music, Aboakyiri, Xcstasy Entertainment and a lot more. Mad Fish is now the best and most forward-moving raglife artiste who wants to tell the whole world and Ghanaian fans that he has come to stay forever and is bringing new things into the raglife game.
