Kumasi last Sunday rocked to the music of Mentor II contestants Sandy, Adez, Rose, Prince, Dee, Joe, Vic and Kofi who all proved that they were in a class of their own.
Singing to loud cheers from Kumasi fans who had come in their numbers from far and near to watch their favourite Mentor contestants perform, each contestant put in their all, especially as they knew that one of them would be evicted at the end of the show.
The lot fell on Adez who on the night like her compatriots, put up an amazing show prompting all four judges comprising Dominic, Akosua, Kwame Adinkra and even ?notorious? Mark to compliment her favourable on her voice and performance.
When her eviction was announced it was not possible to see the reaction of the audience who where mostly crowded behind the judges but some of the contestants especially Sandy wept as well as Scholastica one of the backing vocals who also wept bitterly.
However, Adez who seemed not to be moved by her eviction, was all smiles as contestants and well-wishers crowded around her to hug and congratulate her.
She said in a chat with Showbiz that with her eviction, the way is now clear for her to launch her music career.
Adez intends to come out with her own album shortly.
Akosua Agyepong a big sister and mother to most of them, was on hand to advice the contestants and to encourage them.
According to her, getting out of the Mentor II house ?only means going out there to put all you have learnt into practice to collect the big bucks.??
The Kumasi eviction programme was a huge success judging by the large crowd that gathered at the Ridge Park near Danyame who clapped, cheered, sang and danced to the music of the contestants and the guest artistes.
The judges who the crowd saw at work right in front of them for the first time received their share of applause especially Mark who as usual thrilled them with his remarks.
OD4, Ras Nigger, Chicken and Okurasini were also available to entertain the crowd who showed their appreciation with loud cheers.
On Saturday, Sir Max Hotel held a party for contestants, staff of TV3, Tigo, some judges and a section of the general public.
It was an evening that saw the housemates at their entertaining best. They imitated their housemaster, the camera, sound and lightsmen as well as some the directors of aspects of the show and even the judges.
They did a choreographed dance piece with their aerobics instructor and then they each did a bit of their regional theme songs. Mentor I finalist Andy was around and did a few lines from one of his songs.
The night ended at the Yegoala Night Club, Kumasi where each of the contestants did a rap to a tune that a large crowd of well-wishers enthusiastically danced to.
