The non-profit Music Industry Federation of South Africa (MIFSA) is staging a live concert to rally support around the qualifying African team in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Dubbed the "African concert to rally around Africa", this very special show takes place at the Bassline in the Newtown Precinct on June 29. The cost is R100 at the door and a sterling line-up of artists will perform in celebration of Ghana's brilliant qualification into the Top 16 of the tournament.
Leading the line-up is Ringo Madlingozi who is currently working on a brand new studio album. Also performing in support of Ghana is southern African star, Tsepo Tshola. They are joined by Babsi Mlangeni, Bekhezela Jazz Band and Unconventional Sol as well as Afro-soul singer Zonke, who is widely seen as one of South Africa's most gifted young talents.
Representing Ghana are Amandzeba and Rex Omar two acts who will be rallying audiences in support of the qualifying African nation.
"We are thrilled that Ghana has a fighting chance of getting through to the last stages of the Cup and wanted to show our support for their brilliant accomplishment", said MIFSA's Mandla Maseko.
"We have assembled a fantastic line-up of southern African and Ghanaian artists to help us rally support around Ghana and urge anyone who is a fan of African music and football to join us on June 29."
