Music Producer Warns Music Awards Organizers

The chief executive officer of Frimprince Music Production, Anane Frimpong, has warned the Ghana Music Awards organizers not to nominate any of his artistes' musical works in the upcoming Ghana Music Awards.

In a letter sent to the organizers yesterday and copied to BEATWAVES, Anane Frimpng cautioned Charter House, the organizers of the event, to refrain from using his company's name or logo in their advertisement and programmes.

He again warned the organizers against the nomination of his artistes, which include Josephine Bediako and Evangelist Diana Asamoah, in the upcoming Ghana Music Awards.

The CEO of Frimprince declared that his outfit was not interested in any programme or event organized by Charter House, adding that failure to adhere to his warning would result in a legal battle.

Reports also available indicate that the artistes under Frimprince Music label have been barred by the company from attending the Ghana Music Awards. This revelation has shocked many in the music industry and generated heated debates on why Frimprince Music Production wants to boycott the event.

In an interview with BEATWAVES, Anane Frimpong, who claimed he had lost total interest in the event, said the organizers were not competent enough to organize such an event.

'They don't respect the producers who spent so much in producing musical albums which they have been using for the awards. I have a whole lot of issues against them, but to cut everything short my company doesn't want to be part of the event,' he said.

According to him, the organizers of Ghana Music Awards were doing business with music producers spent huge sums of money to produce.
