Musicians urged To Compose Good Lyrics

A YOUNG Ghanaian artiste manageress, Comfort Opokua, has called on Ghanaian musicians to compose good lyrics that would educate the masses on issues affecting the development of the society.

She said this at a workshop organized by some stakeholders in the music industry, over the weekend in Accra.

The workshop brought together musicians and stakeholders to brain storm ideas and also ascertain some of the problems facing the music industry.

Comfort Opokua, who has been in the industry for some time and has managed a number of music stars, was reacting to concerns raised by a stakeholder about the low patronage of Ghanaian music on the market, saying the industry has tolerated a lot of bad songs and is about time musicians put their heads together and write good lyrics, adding that, music, they say, is the food to the soul, so it must be prepared well.

She noted that musicians have to be careful of the music they put on the market, adding that the music industry has come a long way and that this is the time for players in the industry to enjoy the fruits of their labour.
