Quata The music industry continues to give birth to new artistes everyday especially in the hiplife section. Quata, the new sensation has resurrected from the ground and ready to release some mad songs onto the music market.
Lyrically, Quata is good as he always fuses humour into his songs to get the attention of his fans and listeners before getting his messages to them. Ghana Music.Com bets that all his tracks are decently done and will get the attention of hiplife lovers.
Musically, Quata displays tracks that can be appreciated by those in the hiplife world. Some songs of Quata?s album has already started receiving a good deal of radio airplay from K.O.D of Radio Gold and other DJs who have managed to lay hands on it and also his ?Wonie? is also been shown on Channel O.
With his self-titled debut album, dubbed ?Quata? laced with a thick production and lyrical Twi flow, Quata is determined to make a mark on the hiplife game. The production by two records label merged together by OM Music and Low Down Records will make it one of the best and finest albums and it also fits his style. Also some of the tracks were recorded by Hammer at Hush Hush Studios, Kobby of PSI Studios and Dan of Nice Noise Studios (which is Kojo Antwi?s studio).
Quata draws his inspiration from his dad who also knows how to sing very well but never entered the music industry. Quata was born on 14th June to Mr Bob Kojo Etroo and Mrs Comfort Amaduku Etroo. He had his early elementary and J.S.S education at Airport Police Primary and JSS and then proceeded to Aggrey Memorial Zion Secondary School. He likes to play baseball when he?s not doing his studio works and likes been around music. Quata has championed 1st positions at Miss Teen Millennium and Studafest when he then using the stage name Jake Joe.
Ghana Music.Com asked him to give us more meaning to his self titled album? ?This been my debut album will be a hiplife revolution so I want everyone to recognise me with this album that?s why I named it after myself and I also coming from a new angle? was his reply to his. The album has a variety of hiplife, highlife and ragga songs on.
The album has 14 songs, 8 songs will be on the cassettes and 14 songs on the CD. Some blazing title tracks are ?Quata?, ?Wonie?, ?Huu Haa?, ?Yendi Nkomo? and ?Obaa no?. He also featured some top artistes like K.K. Fosu, Okra, Bandana, Misvee and Dan on this album.
Would you believe he had to do three years of research into the language ?Twi? before coming out? Yes, he did three years of research to be unique and also come out with a NEW flow of rap. He also recorded four albums to test himself before coming out.
Quata thinks the music industry is a big game and a big world the musicians live in and to stand out tall in it, you shouldn?t follow someone. ?Come out with your own style and do serious research because there are so many stumbling blocks on the road to success of hiplife?.
Some producers also don?t treat some artistes well and that they should put a stop to it and work hand in hand to record a good album or track. Some of the musicians also disrespect and feel proud after they are big figures in the game. So it?s on both side, the producer and the artiste?, were some useful statements he made about the industry.
Quata gives big acknowledgements to Mr Sidiq, his manager, Jack who is always with him, his two producers, Abraham Ohene Djan of OM Studios and Richard Holdbrook of Low Down Records, his family members and lastly to the Ga Don Camp.
For Quata alone, he thinks Reggie Rockstone and Kwadee are the pillars of the hiplife game and they have inspired him a lot. As a new entrant in the game, you will have to learn from all these people to climb up the ladder of hiplife because Reggie Rockstone listened to my music and really liked it.
