Come Friday, 17th August, 2012, 'Best Rapper Alive' Okyeame Kwame, will premiere the much expected video of his upcoming single, Mr. Versatile in Kumasi at the Afrodisiac Nite Club.
This follows a previous postponement of the video premiere which was due to the death of Ghana's former president, Prof. John Evans Attah Mills.
Mr. Versatile, to Okyeame Kwame, who is best known as the Rap Doctor, is a combination of different genres purported at telling the world how versatile an artiste he is. And "It also tells the essence of unity in music," he revealed.
Mr. Versatile features Irene Logan, and it is the second single of Okyeame Kwame's upcoming album, "The Versatile Show. It was produced by Victor Dey, recorded by Dan Grahl and part of the Shabo crew, and was however mixed and mastered by Zap Mallet.
The song seeks to be the first of its kind in the world looking at the fact that it captures ten different genres in 4 minutes. These are Blues, Dancehall, Hiplife, Hiphop, Adowa, Kite fusion, Hilife, Rock, and Swing.
The video was directed by Pascal AKA and in an interview with him on 4syte TV; he stated how interesting it was working with Okyeame Kwame, because he had the opportunity to show more than 5 different personas of the gentle rapper.
The video, according to Pascal, was shot in Nafti studios, and the shooting style is the "freestyle" kind. He however stated that it is a must-watch video and that all must go to Kumasi this Friday and experience the art of versatility.
