Okyeame Quophi on Fox FM

Being part of a very successful hiplife duo, Akyeame, who are behind hit songs like Mesan Aba, Obi yere ye obi mpena and Menko Meda, has not stopped Okyeame Quophi from spreading his wings and putting to use his many talents.

Most of his fans may know him only as a rapper but he is an accomplished radio presenter, actor and music producer as well. He worked as a presenter with Luv FM, one of the leading radio stations in Kumasi before he went abroad to further his education.

He is back and bigger than ever, plying his trade with Fox 97.9 FM, another leading cosmopolitan radio station in Kumasi and his re-entry has injected some competitiveness into the radio scene there.

Known as ?Sakraman Driver? that is Fox driver he handles the late afternoon show on the station called Rush Hour which airs every weekday from 4pm to 7:30pm.

The dexterity and maturity with which he handles the programme shows that his stay with Luv FM has indeed had an impact on him and his absence from the scene for a while has not in any way affected his flow.

He is interesting to listen to as the programme is full of humour combined with useful information. His style of presentation is very coherent and is designed to satisfy the different origins and countries within the usual hiplife and highlife.

But perhaps the segment that has really gone down well the people is the amateur rap competition which is on Fridays. On this segment amateur rappers are given the chance to rap on air and winners selected.

This segment has really helped in unearthly talents and bringing them into them into the limelight as the rappers are often helped to get producers to enable them come out on their own.

Okyeame Quophi has acted in movies like Shadows from the Past and Ripples. His acting ability is not in doubt and perhaps with more roles, people might see how versatile he really is. Since his arrival he has acted in some movies that are yet to be released.

As a producer he is currently working with some of the amateur rappers he discovered on his show and they will soon be releasing their own albums.

As part of Akyeame, his contribution to hiplife cannot be doubted but there are many other facets to him apart from rap that are really driving him on to perform very well and he deserves all the attention he is getting now.
