Peace Train visits Citi Fm

The call for peace in the forthcoming elections has been given a boost by a group of musician forming the “Peace Train”.


The train stopped at Citi FM?last week?to reiterate the call for a peaceful election in December this year.


Nana Yaa Owusu Prempeh, head of the Peace Train management team, interacting with staff of Citi FM, said, “There is a thin line between love and hate, same as is between peace and war”.


She added that as a media house, Citi FM influences millions of lives daily and pleaded that the station uses its medium to propagate the call for a peaceful election.


She explains that as musicians they intend using music to ensure this year’s election is an event-free one, and are therefore embarking on a countrywide tour to promote peace through their music in a series of peace concerts.


The visiting team included Shasha Marley, Adane Best, Five Five, Ohemaa Mercy and Christiana Love among others.


The 20 concerts would begin in Bolgatanga in October and climax in Accra on November 29.


The programme is supported by the Director of the World Bank and the Chieftaincy Ministry, and is expected to encourage the youth especially to respect and uphold the peace the country is currently enjoying.


The train would be visiting other media houses and opinion leaders as well.


The next stop would be the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
