Rocky Dawuni Rocks Steady In The Realm Of Reggae

Rocky?s global fame has largely emanated from a lot of ranked music festivals at which he has prominently featured in America which include Cartey Rhythm Dance festivals and Earth Music Festival just to mention a few.

Speaking to this correspondent Mr. Bob Dawuni, managing director of Aqrakian Records, the elder brother of Rocky said the live performances of the reggae star have been invigorating and communicates with the audience so much that their reaction is very spontaneous and one of constant thrill with crowds singing and dancing to his music.

Bob who manages Rocky at home has promised something good for the next coming 50th anniversary celebration of our country?s independence.

Rocky Dawuni, born January 2, 1969 at Michel Camp Army Barracks to a solider father called Koyata Dawuni, a local chief of Dunbon in the Yendi District and a trading mother, Asibi Amanda both of Northern Ghana owes a lot to his loving father and brother Bob during his early childhood at the Michel Camp Services in Teshie in Accra.

Young Rocky then was fond of music and made singing his hobby and as a habit listened to rehearsals of dance bands like the Hot Barrels which was based at the Army Barracks.

As time went on, his appreciation for music a serious turn when his father brought with him a lot of music items and gadgets like tapes, sound system and cassettes on his return from a Lebanon peace keeping operation in the Middle East.

Both brothers having finished their secondary and university education planned to forge ahead with a common purpose of going seriously into the music industry.
