SYRUP AND TABLET: Ready to Unleash Musical Healing

If names mean anything, then Syrup and Tablet is a name to watch. With a single, Rock with U, currently rotating on the airwaves, the duet look to achieve something with their music. “We chose this name because what it means. To any sad person, our music is a cheer. To any sick person, our music is healing and to any dead person, our music means life,” Tablet says. Syrup adds, “Our name brings to mind health. That is what we are propagating. In our songs, we talk about things that make life enjoyable and even better, which is why we call ourselves that.”

The duo with this name met when they were both students of Elite College. Music was the connecting factor. They both rapped, they both sung, they both had the names, Syrup and Tablet as their nicknames separately. They saw the binding point and decided to use their talents together. Made up of Theophilus a Ghanaian and Nigerian Stanley, their diverse cultures influence the music making them fit both markets. They deliberately decide on doing music that appeal to both markets. There are both Nigerian and Ghanaian flavors in the song.

“Rock with U”, their single which is now playing on Hitz FM, Y FM Ghana, Hot FM and other stations, is perfect rendition of their two separate worlds. While Merqury Quaye (the engineer) tries to give the song a Ghanaian feel, Syrup did very well at bringing his Nigerian personality to bear. Tablet on his part added to what Merqury was doing but it still couldn’t get the song to be only Ghanaian in outlook.

This club banger is a perfect party song. Ladies can shake to it and the guys can “buggy” with it.
