Spare Me This

Kwabena Kwabena, one of the latest sensations in the highlife genre, says the greatest misfortune that has befallen him in recent time is the lies that is being bandied around that he cooked up a poisoning story in order to gain popularity.

Kwabena Kwabena, whose real name is George Kwabena Adu, said he had a call to go to Roro Studio to contribute to some recordings.

Since the invitation was sudden and demanded immediate response, he packed some food he had bought and two sachets of water and rushed to the studio with the intention of eating after he had completed singing.

He said he followed this plan but just when he finished the second sachet he felt a severe abdominal pains for which he was rushed to a clinic to be treated.

The songster said he thought the matter died thereafter but the fact that it lingers on and has become so important that it comes up for discussion on television programme is unimaginable.

The 27-year-old songster said it was his prayer that anybody who has taken to circulating this story would spare him the embarrassment. ?I am too young to cope with this,? he said.

In an interview with Showbiz, Kwabena Kwabena who said his name depicts the two vocations he is presently in ? first as Kwabena, the draughtsman, and Kwabena, the musician ? told this reporter that he scarcely has time to deal adequately with all his pulls.

He said currently he is working very hard on his next musical project after Aso and since he believes he may achieve his goal very soon, distractions are not welcome where he is.

On his Aso album, Kwabena Kwabena said there are equally good songs like Sweet Baby and Love is Good and wonders why Aso has overshadowed the rest of the songs on the album.

George Kwabena Adu said his interest in music started as early as when he was about eight years old. He started singing for his church choir and during that period he experimented with guitar and piano till he was able to play the two instruments.

At the age of 13 when he started his secondary school education he developed an interest in playing drums and played regularly at worship.

He was the quiet type of student but became a hot dancer at weekend entertainments.

At 27 he is not yet married but has a 23-year-old girlfriend whose name he prefers to be kept secret. In any case he has been jilted three times in his love affairs.

Can?t he be pardoned since all the three left to marry?
