Stars Of The Future Contestants Set For First Performance

COME Thursday March 17th 2011, the National Theater will be on fire as the twelve contestants of the season 5 Stars of the Future finally take to the stage to justify their inclusion into Ghana’s most exciting music reality series.

Although the series was launched a few weeks ago, Thursday will be the first time the contestants strep onto the big stage to perform to a live audience. The night which promises to be packed full of trills will afford followers of the competition an opportunity decide which of the contestants to root for during the coming weeks

The seven girls and five guys; Grace Ocansey, Kwame Wiredu, Emmanuel Yawson, David De-Graft Crentsil, Rauhel Halidou Yacouba, Asantewaah Essel, Elizabeth Joseph, Daniela Dankwah-Coffie, Abigail Bih, Reynolds Addow, Noella Wiyaala and Henry Nuamah have not been sleeping on their oars since their selection

They have been very hard at work for the last three weeks preparing for this one night which will determine their fate in the competition. Their lives since they entered the competition has been filled with voice coaching lessons, breathing exercises, singing with a live band, practice, practice and some more practice to ensure their talents a polished to a sheen.

Their performances on Thursday will be supported on stage by the Patch Bay Band, a twelve man music group that prides itself on delivering the best tunes under the able leadership of Philip Acquah with Victor Dey on keyboard (who once worked with Steve Wonder and the marvelous Béninois) guitarist Fifi Finder.

According to organizers, admission to the weekly performances scheduled to come off at 6Pm every Thursday at the National Theater will be free. Patrons are encouraged to come out in their numbers to support their favorite contestants and also vote to keep their favorites in the competition by texting their names to the MTN short code 1750.

SOF 5 is sponsored by MTN with support from LG, Close Up, Vodka Kick, Koala, Spa 216, GTP and shows on Television Sunday at 1:30PM on GTV and 3PM on e.TV. There is a repeat show at Mondays, 12.30PM on GTV.

Soon to follow the performance shows are the dreaded eviction shows which will see the exit of non performing contestants till the final four who will battle it out for the ultimate prize of a brand new car and a juicy recording contact. The weekly eviction shows will air Tuesdays at 9PM on e.TV and 9:30PM on GTV. Those who miss the TV series can catch the radio series of SOF 5 on YFM every Monday at 7PM sharp.
