Stella Addo Makes More Impact With Her Maiden Album

Increasingly, Gospel music in Ghana is moving away from the conventionalised representation which has become monotonous to music lovers.

One of the female gospel musicians who has broken the stereotype gospel music trend is Stella Addo whose maiden album, Champion Jesus, was released a few weeks ago. Stella Addo brings a new lease of life to Ghanaian gospel music not only through her rich golden voice, but also through the very good texture of the music itself.

For someone who braced music at the age of six, and had a warm-up in the background for the past eighteen years before venturing unto the mainstream, she should understand the acumen being displayed.

By far, Stella?s best asset is her voice which is likely to sweep many listeners off their feet, through its sheer appeal, further enhanced by the technical output credited to Kwame Mickey, the youngest music producer, who assisted in the production.

Instrumentation, programming and general music flow is good, but even before one begins to get fully soaked in this eight-track album, in which the inlay of the cassette is neatly designed.

The gospel album touches the heart, courtesy of the excellence, coupled with a golden voice that rings and echoes farther.

Under the Kaakyire Music Production, producers of this album, Stella Addo must be comfortable under the umbrella of musical success, having benefited from the long years of experience in her career.

All the songs on Stella?s album invoke the Christian?s sentiment, and listeners soon step in line with the danceable tune to do a jig while praising the Lord in superlative terms.

The title track, Champion Jesus, sets the tone. Empare Me (Praises) pours out God?s support all the time, and the musical display on this track, is commendable.

Danase Ma Me, despite its appeal in terms of lyric, has good tempo beats designed to drag listeners to the dance floor.

Other bouncing tracks on the album include Emma Mani Nwu, Hu Memmobo, Me wo Obotan, Me Da Wa?se, as well as Onam Kwan Kroso.
