Timeless Stars To Celebrate Ghana At 50

A publicized event to bring to Ghana for the first time Jericho Rosales popularly known in Ghana as Christine of the Promise and Timeless? fame for a pre-valentine dinner dance on 10th February at the Unique Celebration Garden could not materialize as scheduled for several reasons which will no more be secret after reading this. We took it up to investigate and inform you on why Christian and other supporting stars could not make to Ghana.

A visit to N.A.G Media, organizers of the event and the brains behind ?In Touch Africa?, a television show, who are also known for bringing to Ghana for the first time Nigerian stars like Clint the drunk, Ini Idoh, Desmond Elliot and others, revealed that a contract to confirm their coming was signed as far back as December last year but because Jericho was booked all through Christmas, it was agreed he comes on January.

Later, One Touch, the major sponsor of the show suggested he come on Valentine Day since he is known for playing romantic roles.

A renegotiation ended on 10th February, the closest date they could get which was alright for both organizers and sponsors. Unfortunately a last minute flight delay and mix up of visa formalities denied his arrival for the expected pre- valentine show.

According to Dzigbodi Allotey C.E.O of N.A.G Media this was the biggest blow since she?s ever taken.

The good news to fans of Christine and patrons of this event is that the Philippine star and two others are expected in Ghana on 2nd March to celebrate Ghana?s 50th anniversary. Jericho, who is one of Asia?s biggest musicians, is billed to perform with Ofori Amponsah, Batman Samini, Ebo, Adeiyie, the four Mentor II finalist and many others on the 5th of March for a pre-independence show at the National Theater.

Even though it wasn?t Christine?s fault that the Valentines Day show couldn?t come on, he has agreed to shoot television promo to apologize to all Ghanaians for the disappointment and assure all his fans of his arrival. This in addition to some of his music videos will be shown on TV3 prior to his coming.

Though the organizers refused to disclose the amount they are paying Jericho and the two others to come to Ghana, they however confirmed they had already paid 75% of the total amount to them. Our investigations also indicate that plane ticket for the three of them from the Philippines to Ghana is over $8,000.

Dzigbodi also dismissed claims from some quarters that people who bought advanced tickets do not know how and when to get their money back. According to her, she can easily count the number of people who bought advanced ticket and she is ready to replace the old ticket if the buyers so wish.
