Half Ga and Brong Ahafo born, Toyota Cosby, whose song is ‘2 Paddies’ has emerged as one of the best and is now seen as one of the new artiste to change the phase of the Ghanaian industry.
By the time he got to Secondary School, he had started writing his own lyrics and his friends then encouraged him to be serious about it. Rapping came naturally to Toyota who later joined forces with Raphious and formed the group Toyota after they finished school. At that time, he was known as Cosby.
They came down to Kumasi to do a demo and sent it to his uncle in Accra. His uncle then took it to DJ Valentine of Top Radio who advised him to produce them.
They titled their first album as ‘Wu Si Sei’. Cosby’s uncle did not have much money to promote the album so they had to split on a good note.
But by God’s grace, he is now under Wayoosi Music Production. The ‘2 Paddies’ album is basically about two close friends trying to win a girl’s heart and out of nowhere a third friend rather wins the girl’s heart.
“It’s a funny how the third guy won the girl but it happens at times in life," Toyota Cosby says. Toyota Cosby builds off his strong foundation with the song, ‘2 Paddies'. Some of the songs were recorded primarily by Morris Baby Face, RoRo, Jay Q and Collins.
The high-energy album features top-gunners like Screwface, Opam, King Fad, Bak Tye, as well as some up-and-coming artistes. It took him 2 years to come out with this album and hopes Ghanaians patronize the album.
Wayoosi is the executive producer of his project. “Working with Wayoosi is cool. I sent my demo to him because he knew about me on the first group album”, he said.
Anchored by smash song "2 Paddies", the more advanced 13 song album also includes two other hits like ‘Ketepa’ and ‘Ambataayela’ sang in Wale.
Toyota targets the youth on the streets especially on this album by advising them and giving them good messages.
