‘Weytn u gain’ hit-maker and Nigerian singer Victor Adere popularly known as victor AD has described the rejections he faced in the past as one of his biggest motivations.
He said other people would see such situations as embarrassment but he saw it as a motivator.
The singer recounted how his smash hit song was rejected by people months after it was released.
Speaking to Jon Germain on the zone Friday he said ‘I’ve gotten to places where they’ve actually rejected me, and rejected this song ‘weytn u gain’.”
“At the end of the day, people see it as an embarrassment, they see it as being disappointed but I see it as my biggest motivation. It was like a week old, even when it was 2 months plus, it was rejected, he added.”
Victor AD who was adjudged Best African Act at the just ended music awards noted that he is not trying to make songs to sound like or be better than ’weytn u gain’ but follows his heart.
“Every song has their own vibe and season. I shouldn’t be all about trying to beat weytn u gain. Or do a song like weytn u gain. I just release a new song and follow my heart, he said. “
He revealed that if he can affect one or two lives with his musk and change lives positively, that would be his biggest achievement.”
Victor AD who sees Ghana as his second home has worked with Ghanaian musicians like Kuami Eugene, Sista Afia, and Teephlow, and hopes to work with the likes of Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy amongst others.
The singer who is currently in the country to have a meet and greet session with fans, music lovers and the media as a way of showing appreciation, is also currently promoting his new song with BET award winner Davido titled “Tire You.”
