The Communications Director for Zylofon Music, Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo, has said the label is yet to reach an agreement with Akoo Nana.
He revealed that the CEO of Zylofon Media offered him an opportunity, and they are waiting for him to accept or say otherwise.
“Officially Zylofon has not signed Akoo Nana. We have a way that signed artiste are unveiled. From the first artiste that we signed, Kumi Guitar, Becca, Obibini, Joyce Blessing, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale...we hold a big press conference to unveil them. We haven’t reached that stage yet with Akoo Nana and we haven’t put a pen on a paper with him yet. For now, there is no contract between him and Zylofon Music.
“Over the weekend we honoured an invitation to a festival at Kasoa, and some of the youth and chiefs called on us to sign him [Akoo Nana]. Mind you, he is a sub-chief at Kasoa. So Nana Appiah told them there is no need for them to plead for him to be signed...and he, therefore, proposed a management deal to him,” he told DJ Murphy Lee on Bohye FM’s Midmorning Groove in Kumasi.
Arnold added: “He proposed a three-year management deal...so that is the stage we are in now. It is now up to Akoo Nana to accept or reject.”
“This deal is different from what we have signed with the other artistes. The other deals were recording while the yet-to-be-signed deal with Akoo Nana is a management deal,” he clarified.
