This year’s FIBA Africa Club Championship is set to be held from December 11-20 in Rades, Tunisia with teams from several parts of the continent expected to compete in the annual tournament. Reigning champions Al-Ahly of Egypt are in line to defend last year’s trophy it won ahead of powerhouse Recreativo do Libolo.
The Angolan champions have sealed a return to this year’s edition after qualifying from the continent’s Zone 6 alongside rival Interclube.
The Angolan duo beat competition from the likes of Ferroviario de Beira from Mozambique, Ferroviario de Maputo and Dolphins of Botswana to qualify for the championship.
Ghana top duo in the men’s division, Braves of Customs and Tema Youth, are expected to compete in FIBA Africa’s Zone 3 tournament next month per reports gathered by Basketballghana.com
The top sides in the female division, Braves and Ghana Navy are expected to compete for slots at the continental event as well.
However, teams from the West African country have consistently failed to be present in the zonal qualifiers due to financial challenges.
