Eight Basic Schools to battle for honours at Milo Junior Ball

The stage is set for the grand finale of the 2012 Milo Junior Ball on Saturday, April 13 at the El-Wak Stadium-Accra, with eight schools ready to battle for supremacy as the best basketball team from either the Central, Greater Accra or Eastern Regions.

The Central regional duo of Mfantsipim and Catholic Jubilee will be strong contenders for the title with debutant Akosombo International School as well as the Eastern regional champions, Roman Catholic Basic School also in the frame to challenge for honours.

Other contenders can be found from the Greater Accra quartet of either Calvary School, Garrison Basic School, Base Ordinance Depot or the Ghana Lebanon Islamic School.

The next three days will be a short one with eight participants expected to emphasis the uniqueness of the hugely-popular championship.

The competition is expected to attract thousands of crazy basketball fans with hip-life music sensation Guru expected to entertain the crowd with his hugely popular 'Lapaz Toyota' single while fans’ favourite, Ayibge Edem will also be in full flight as well as Choreography and Rap competitions.

Air Force Basic School are the defending champions and are expected to face stiff opposition from the eight qualified Basic Schools who are set to battle for honours at the 2012 Milo Junior Ball.**
