KABALAN THOME TOURNEY: The Final Countdown

As we approach the final weekend before the Kabalan Thome tourney tips off, we take a look back at past winners and the chances of the most likely team to lift the Trophy.

1988 – NIMA FLAMES

1989 – TUDU MY PEOPLE

1990 – TEMA SHEPHERDS

1991 – FIRE SERVICE

1992 – FIRE SERVICE

1993 – BRAVES (CEPS)

1994 – FIRE SERVICE

1995 – BRAVES

1996 – BRAVES

2001 – TEMA SHEPHERDS

2002 – BRAVES

2003 - ??????

Come 30th July the BRAVES of CEPS SHOULD REPEAT as Kabalan Thome champions and they should do it pretty easily. This is simply because their only worthy opponents Shepherds are probably not as prepared as CEPS who have spent the past month or so working on their game. Shepherds will rely on MEME, the highflying baller who once dunked over an SUV. Despite his flying antics, MEME loves to take his game outside and shoots pretty well from the arc.

Three time winners FIRE SERVICE are living on past glories. The team is suffering from not recruiting good young players and they will struggle to make it to the final four.

Reformers on the other hand WILL make it to the final four. They can boast of more Final Four appearances than any other team but have never won the cup. Without their flashy point guard, DODZI, this tournament should be a tough one for Reformers.
