Police with big chance to claim top position in Accra League

Novas (red) against Police. Novas (red) against Police.

Ghana Police have a big chance tonight to retake top spot in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II season tonight when it takes on Dunk Knights.

The tie is scheduled to be played at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu following the round’s opening game between Tudu Galaxy and DCD Aspirants which tips off at 17:00 GMT.

Aspirants are in a desperate search for its maiden win of the season after falling in eight previous games while Galaxy continue to maintain its top six spot in the standings.

With league leaders Reformers of Prisons missing out on the chance to stretch its lead atop the standings due to a rain induced postponed tie against CYO, Police have a big chance to win back the league’s first position.

Police lie one point behind Prisons who have 15 points and a win tonight against Knights gives the veteran side 16 points which enough to leapfrog Prisons.

Aside the positional change at stake, Police have a winning record in the league to protect; the team is the only side to win all games.

Its record stands at seven wins in seven games and trails Reformers after featuring in a game fewer than Prisons; Knights are 12th in the 13 team standings.
