The 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship quarterfinals came to a close earlier today at the University of Ghana (UG).
Games in Group B dominated the fixtures with each team playing two games on the day; teams in Group A played the same number of games on Day One.
University of Education-Winneba (UEW) opened the day with a free-scoring performance to beat All Nations University College 82-50.
UEW won its second straight game in the group by beating Sunyani Technical University (STU) 61-33 in the final game to clinch a place in the semifinal.
Like UEW, Accra Technical University clinched two wins on the day beating STU 48-17 and All Nations University College (ANUC) 56-30 to top Group B.
In Group A, host UG was put through the mill by Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) but emerged 37-29 winners in overtime.
Takoradi Technical University clinched its second win of the quarterfinals with a 51-31 win over Ghana Technology University College.
