One Nigerian woman wey leave her pikin alone to die for inside nurse accommodation for di United Kingdom (UK) don chop jail term.

Tori be say di 28-year-old Ruth Auta leave her son wey dey identified as Joshua Akerele for her nurse accommodation for Royal Bolton Hospital, UK.

She bin comot di accommodation around 06:30 for 20 December 2022 and she return afta ova eight hours later.

Wen Ruth return for afternoon, she bin quickly call ambulance wia she report say her son no dey breathe again.

Dem pronounce di son dead for evening dat same day afta dem do different attempt to bring am back to life.

Wen di matter happun, Ruth bin try to run comot for di kontri afta she bin first plead guilty for court say she no treat di pikin well.

Di Bolton Crown Court bin sentence her to three years for jail.

'Terrible decision'

Painfully, dem no get any conclusion as to wetin lead to di death of young Joshua. Infact, according to di court, di baby na healthy boy but dem no fit trace wetin lead to im death.

Di court bin hold say maybe di boy fit don get too much heat sake of di layers of clothes and bedsheet wey dem use wrap am.

But still, dem no fit detect wetin cause di death of di boy.

Ruth first tell di police officers from Greater Manchester Police say she bin collect late Joshua from a child care afta she finish work for 20 December.

She bin claim say she fall asleep next to di boy wen she find say e no dey respond wen she wake up.

Sadly, di CCTV footage wey di police obtain find wia Ruth dey comot from her flat dat morning witout her son Joshua - around 06:47 am and return home alone at around 3:13 pm.

Even di messages wey dem find for her phone show say she bin don tell di child caregiver to tell di police say she look afta Joshua dat day.

But di child caregiver reveal say she neva see dia pikin for few days.

Ruth chop arrest as she dey try run go Nigeria

Dem charge Ruth wit wickedness to a child and she plead guilty for di hearing at Manchester Magistrates court for 24 May.

Di case dey adjourned to 21 June for sentence but dem arrest Ruth for Gatwick Airport on 6 June afta she bin try to board a flight to Nigeria on a one-way ticket.

Sara Davie from di Crown Prosecution Service, say: "While she bin go to work to provide care for oda pipo, Ruth Auta leave di pesin wey need her care di most to stay for home alone."

Ms Davie say dat, as a nurse, Ruth suppose know say e get di dangers wey dey associated wit leaving her baby for house wey nobody dey attend to and "must now live wit di consequences of di terrible decision she make dat day".

She say Ruth fail to show say she dey sorry throughout di case, as well as say she mislead police about her child caregiver arrangements.

Den she try to run away from justice by attempting to fly comot for di kontri.

"Our thoughts and sympathies dey wit all dose wey dey affected by di death of Joshua," Ms Davie add.
