Di board also tok say di minimum cut-off point mark for admission into polytechnics and colleges of education go be 100.

Entry age into higher institutions

Di Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman, tok say 18 years old na di required age for admission into tertiary institutions for Nigeria.

E say im position dey backed by Nigeria law wey guide admissions into tertiary institutions. Mamman say e no suppose require a statement from am for admission bodis to take dis into consideration.

“Our laws require students to dey in school from six years – Yes, e get dose wey do dat from five – and remain in primary school for six years, basic education for three years, and secondary school for three years. E no require a statement of di minister. We dey only restate wetin dey di law," e tok

However, afta deliberations wit vice-chancellors, Jamb registrar Professor Oloyede announce say 16 years old go be di age of consideration for 2024 academic year but e go change to 18 years from 2025.

Jamb also tok say candidates gatz get NIN to create account for examination registration.

Di Board say dem go verify Direct Entry (DE) candidates bifor dem go gain admission into university and afta dem graduate from di university.

Oda entry requirements

“No institution fit recommend or admit any candidate for DE wit less dan two points, you know say di highest na sixteen and di lowest na two. No candidate for DE go get less dan two but e no mean say make you admit two. You go determine wetin you wan take as your own minimum for direct entry.

Professor Oloyede also tok say no institution dey allowed to add further expenses for admission screening of students into di university.

E tok say Jamb go give all institutions access to photograph images and fingerprints data of all candidates to cut substitution and impersonation of candidates .

“No institution dey allowed to recapture photographs or biometrics from any candidates but rather make dem depend on di biometrics wey Jamb don give di institution for dia admission," e tok.
