Earlier dis year, 41-year-old Sarah Rigby, from Winsford for Cheshire, gbab 20-month prison sentence wey dem suspend for two years, for Chester Crown Court, afta she plead guilty to coercive and controlling behaviour.

Det Con Sophie Ward of Cheshire Police bin describe Rigby say she get "stranglehold" ova her victim.

Di police add say, "Many pipo tink say na only women dey fall victim of controlling and coercive behaviour, but dis case don show say, dis no be true.”

Mr Jones, one NHS manager wey originally come from Pontypridd, Rhondda Cynon Taf, tok say during dia nine-month relationship, im bin lose control of im finances and about £40,000, and e im dey isolated from friends and family.

E bin dey subjected to daily verbal abuse and humiliation – e say im no fit use di toilet for di house or shower without Rigby permission.

Strict controls on im diet make am lose 4.5 stone (28kg) in two months, while Rigby repeatedly tell am say she go police say na im dey assault her, if e follow anyone tok about di abuse.

Speaking five months afta di sentencing, e say at first di relationship be like say e dey "normal", though for im mind, e dey reason say she dey "too affectionate".

"I guess dem dey call am love bombing," e tok.

"I reason say 'how pesin fit dey so loving?'.

"E too dey powerful."

E give up im apartment and move go Rigby home just four months afta dem meet. Na there di abuse bin start and dey grow.

Rigby make am pay for all di time e spend for di house.

E also pay £700 a month in rent, plus all di bills, but e no give am key, and e fit only dey di property wen she dey house.

She also put restrictions on im use of di bathroom, and wetin e fit and no fit chop.

"She go make me sleep on ordinary floor if things no go her way, as punishment," e tok.

"I no dey allowed to shower or shave, or use di toilet.

"I gatz hold my poo or my pee for body until I see one local supermarket, bar or restaurant.

Rigby go go through im phone, and tell am say make e no associate wit family and friends, and go tell am say "you dey wit me now".

E say im go delete any texts e send to im mama to avoid repercussions.

Physical abuse, wey include biting, kicking, scratching and clawing dey involved.

Gareth mama Diane Debens say di family dey "proud" of am for speaking out.

She say e put big strain on dem. "You know say dem dey go through pain. Na your child, no mata what age. And you feel helpless, really."

Ms Debens tok say dem go see Gareth wit bruises, wey e go just brush off, and on one occasion, one cut across imnose.

"I no fit believe say one human being fit treat anoda human being like dis," she add.

Mankind Initiative chairman Mark Brooks hail Gareth bravery for telling im tori, and say pipo no too dey hear about physical abuse.

Both Gareth and im mama hope say e go feel ready to find love in di future, but e say im neva reach dat level yet.

Gareth leave im abuser wit "only di clothes on my back" and gatz start from di beginning financially to build new house, build friendships back up - not to mention di work e gatz put in rebuilding himself.
