Bodybuilders Celebrate With The World Conquerors – Satellites

The 2009 Man Ghana Competition comes off at the National Theatre of Ghana this Saturday 24th October 2009. The competition will bring together 20 body builders from all over the country. This year’s event is expected to be the biggest and most exciting event ever held in Ghana. The event is being organized by the Ghana Bodybuilders and Fitness Association (GBFA), under the National Sports Council (NSC), courtesy the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Speaking to the event manager, Yaw Asamoah of Creative Trends, he promised a night of glitz, style, physique, strength and attitude. The competition will be in four categories, the super heavy weight, heavy weight,middle weight and light weight. For the first time in eleven (11) years, the man Ghana event returns to the National Theatre with twenty well sculptured men competing for a top of the range motor bicycle, cash prizes and also an opportunity to represent Ghana in the African and world championship.

The Ghana Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (GBFA) is affiliated to the International Fitness and Physique Association (IFPA), International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB) and the African Federation of Bodybuilding (AFBB). The reigning champion, Kofi Salia, aka asasee represented Ghana last year at the West African event and won.

As part of the competition, the world conquerors; the black satellites,Ghana’s under 20 football team who won the just ended FIFA under 20 world tournament will grace the occasion by making on-stage appearances and also showcasing the world cup. Mr. Jordan Anagla – chairman of the black satellites committee said, this will be a great way to celebrate the gallant men and also assure them of our support and prayers. He encouraged all to come to the national theatre with their Ghana flags and horns to witness the man Ghana event whiles celebrating the world cup winners.

On stage with the gallant black satellites and bodybuilders will be the super silky and refreshing highlife king – ABRANTIE AMAKYE DEDE and Africa’s lyrical giant – SARKODIE in a 120 minute performance. “I urge all Ghanaians and foreigners alike to come with extra batteries and shoes as it will be a night of fun, dance and non-stop hit after hit”, - amakye dede speaking to the organizers of the competition. Sarkodie on the other hand, was full of praise for the bodybuilders and promised a show of rhymes and rhythm.

Mr. Yartey, president of the Ghana Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (GBFA) commended all the sponsors on board, Astymin and Apetamin, Saigon at La Palm Casino, Royal Motors, Pleasure Condom, Ikann Fitness Centre, Joy Fm, Hitz Fm, TV3, GTV, Metro TV, Graphic Sports, Mirror and Graphic Showbiz for supporting bodybuilding in Ghana and assured them of a great show come this Saturday 24th October 2009 at the national theatre at 8:00 in the evening. The gate fee for the event is GH ¢25 only.
