Accra, July 27, GNA - Aloyi Moyoyo, the World Boxing Organisation Regional Cruiserweight champion will fight Patrick Owie of Nigeria in the top card of the maiden Sole Mio (My Sunshine) promotion slated for the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex on Friday, August 2.
Mr Charles Amuah, a spokesman for the organisers who announced the match in Accra on Wednesday said Moyoyo had been contracted to replace Adama Mensah, whose comeback bid was nipped in the bud.
He assured boxing fans of maximum entertainment as both boxers were in great shape, adding that all fights on the bill were "great thrillers" which would offer fans their money's worth. In the under cards announced, Evans Ofori Tysaon will clash with Chinedu Afunanya, another Nigerian heavyweight who had predicted a knockout win on arrival.
Mohammed Kunde, the number one contender to the national super middleweight crown will slug it out with Issifu Mohammed, while Dan Adotey challenges Joseph Lamptey in a super welterweight contest. Boxing Methuselah, Simon Peter McKintosh keeps a date with Thomas Awinbono and Pee Wee Yartey, the number three contender to the national flyweight title challenges Isaac Quaye for the vacant belt.
