Don Richay Attoh-Okine has commended the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) for showing maturity and calmness in handling the issue between Ayitey Powers and Bukom Banku when there became a misunderstanding over signing of contracts.
The former USA based Ghanaian boxing enthusiast who recently donated sets od boxing gloves, bandages and pant to the GBA congratulated the entire executive board headed Lawyer Peter Zwennes and urged Ghanaians to believe in the leadership that exercises dialogue and splendid inter-personal relationship to achieve its objectives.
He praised the two boxers also for displaying the knowledge of the rules and regulations of the game as Ayitey Powers knew he could sign a supplementary contract if he had not signed the initial one.
For Bukon Banku, Attoh-Okine said he has shown good behavior by asking his fans not to insult or fight the opposing supporters because they are doing sports and anyone can win, lose or draw.
Richay Attoh-Okine who is now attached to the IT Department of Ghana Gas praised boxing fans who had hyped up the bout between Ayitey Powers and Braimah Kamoko.
He was sure of a nice boxing night, come May 16, 2014 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
“Boxing is coming back in Ghana and I think it must continue. We need the big fights and the companies must support. I commend the GBA, SuperSport and the other sponsors who want to make this fight bight. But I am sure one of them will retire by round three” he said.
