Awimbono and Tetteh to vie for vacant title

Accra, Sept. 23, GNA - Two Ghanaian pugilists, Thomas "Awin" Awimbono and Ishmael "Roy Jones Jnr" Tetteh will vie for the vacant National and West Africa Super Welterweight titles on Friday, September 30, at the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex Kaneshie in Accra. The fight, which is under the auspices of the Ambitions Boxing Promotions and the Commonwealth Sports Awards dubbed "Bragging Rights -Karikabuga" will also present boxing fans with another championship fight between Ben "Miracle" Odametey and Lanquaye "Wonder boy" Wilson. Odametey and Wilson will compete for the National Featherweight title.

Also appearing in the ring on the night are Joseph "Madingo" Laryea and Samuel "Agumpio" Danso for the final elimination for the National Featherweight title, which will travel for 10 rounds while Agoe Ashong also known as "Odorkor Tyson" will battle with Mohammed "Kumasi Tyson" Sanpando in an eight round Welterweight contest.

Mortein sensation, George " Red Tiger" Ashie will also take on Shegun Akim Konkonbilo in a ten round Super Welterweight contest, with Ben Ankrah a.k.a. "Congo Soldier" and "Rebel Man" Ali Cisse sorting things out in an eight round Lightweight contest while Frank Kwaku tries his fortune against a yet to be named Nigerian opponent.
