Patrick Ayi went home with the bragging rights on Friday night after earning a unanimous points decision victory over compatriot Michael Pappoe in the headline bout of the third edition of VIP Fight Night in Accra.
Ayi dominated Pappoe all fight night long in their Super Featherweight contest for the eight rounds it lasted so much Judge 3, Clement Ashong gave him all rounds 80-71, Judge 1, Shadrack Acquaye scored it 78-75 whilst Judge 2, May Mensah Akakpo had it at a more closer 77-75.
Ayi was thus declared winner in the main event of the Ghana Boxing Authority sanctioned Hemmans Promotions bill at the Cuzzy Bros located inside Osu in the Ghanaian capital.
Another of Ghana's rising boxing prospect, Emmanuel Quartey alias Akufo Addo also continued his winning run after edging Billy Quaye on unanimous points, 79 -73, 80 – 74, 79 - 73 in their Bantamweight contest.
In other fights, Sherrif Quaye also claimed a unanimous points win over Raymond Mawuli (60-55, 60–54, 60 -54) in their 6-round Lightweight contest whilst Michael Dodoo scored a round 6 technical knockout win over Richard Caesar in another Lightweight clash.
Robert Quaye was also a quick winner after stopping Charles Tetteh at 1:37 minutes into round 2 of their Super Lightweight contest whereas Ebenezer Lantei Lamptey won by TKO round 5 against Francis Mensah in their Welterweight clash.
Bright Ayala knocked out Daniel Kwesi in round 6 of their Super Featherweight contest scheduled for 8 rounds as well as Emmanuel Martey who earned a TKO in round 4 against Joseph Mingle in a Super Middleweight contest.
