Boxer Ayitey Powers attracts Musician Shatta Wale and Korle Gonno support

… as Coach Believer joins Team Powers camp

Veteran boxing trainer Rashid Williams aka Believer has joined the team of coaches handling Michael Nii Ayitey Powers in his preparations for the impending Big Fight against Braimah Kamoko popularly called Bukom Banku at the Accra Sports Stadium on April 18, 2014.

Williams who positively responds to Believer said he believes Ayitey Powers has what it takes to beat Bukom Banku and he has the magic to let him floor Banku in the sixth round.

The nephew of ace trainer of old, Supriser Sowah said Ayitey Powers is a very disciplines boxer that is why he decided to join his camp and he looks like a potential champion.

Williams and coach Killer together with the brother of Professor Azumah Nelson, Sagacious are handling Ayitey Powers towards the fight.

Ayitey Powers told yours truly the three men are doing very well and he is comfortable with the tricks and skills he is gathering from them.

He hinted that Banku will definateky fall on the sixth round. “You know I will punish him from round one. He said I wil fall twice in round one, but we shall see who will dominate the rounds. I am training for 12 rounds and I will fight, box, thrill and chill the fans. I am comin g in to this fight in a grand style. I am coming with my main man Shatta Wale. It’s a Korle Gonno affair and my Korle Gonno brother has agreed to support me so we are coming in big style. I hear Bukom is coming with Samini and we are ready for them.” He expressed.

The news of Shatta Wale joining Ayitey Powers to enter the ring has generated among dimension to the big fight even before the promoters move to Kumasi to extend the publicity of the fight.

Most of the youth in Mamprobi, Korle Gonno, James Town and Bukom who love boxing are divided over this fight. Even old ladies have joined the debate of either on the side of Banku or Powers.

Though there is no title at stake, the heat generated by the fight demonstrates that Ghana has the key to open bigger doors for big fights and big events.

SuperSports with their visionary directors and producers have thought it very wise and prudent to telecast the fight by bearing all production costs and advertising opportunities.

Cecil Sunkwa – Mills of SuperSport said they are in Ghana to support viable sporting ventures and they love to create opportunities for the youth of Africa.

Meanwhile, the promoters have warned trouble makers to stay at home and watch the fight on TV3 or DSTV, if they do not want confrontation with the security agencies as security will be as tight at its best.

Alex Ntiamoah-Boateng has also commended the Ghanaian media for the publicity given to the fight.

In another development, Braima Bukom Banku Kamoko has invited Ex. President J.J. Rawlings, President John Mahama, Hon. Nii Lante Vandepuije, Member of Parliament for Odododiodoo and all the Ministers of State to come and watch the fight.
