BabyJet Promotions in collaboration with VIT’s lnstant Noodles have released the itinerary for the match awaited George Ashie against Emmanuel Tagoe fight scheduled for the Accra Sports Stadium on November 10, 2012.
The organizers have for the first time put in place a solid programme to change the face of boxing promotion in Ghana ahead of the big fight that will be the maiden event of the new promotion syndicate headed by star footballer Asamoah Gyan.
The two pugilists are already in the gym fine-tuning ahead of the big day in their respective boxing careers and were at Thursday’s press conference at the Media Centre of the Accra Stadium, to exchange a wild range of verbal blows.
For the first time, boxing fans will feel the tension between boxers preparing for a big fight in the country and opportunities will also be given to the media to see the boxers work out ahead of a titanic battle. According to the programme line-up, a media work out for both fighters is next on the schedule after today’s press conference. First up will be George Ashie AKA Red Tiger to show his skills to the media at the Seconds Out Gym, near Baiden Powell Hall off Accra High Street now Atta Mills High Street on Wednesday October 24, 2012 at 3pm or 15hrs GMT.
Emmanuel ‘Game Boy’ Tagoe will take his turn for the media work out at the same gym two days later, Friday October 26, 2012, also at 3pm. Another new addition by BabyJet Promotions is that for the first time ever, the boxers will meet the fans for interactions and photo sessions before fight day, first on Thursday the 1st of November 2012 at Accra Mall at 3pm and again at Club House, Korle Wonkon, Accra Central on Saturday 3rd November at 8pm.
The weigh-in, rules meeting and the press conference is fixed for the RLG/DG Hathiramani Hall of the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday the 9th of November 2012 at 11am sharp. Boxers will for the last time speak to the public ahead of the clash in the four-square circle.
The fight day and the day of destiny for the world title prospects is Saturday 10th November 2012. The bouts will start at 7pm and lots and lots of people are expected to throng the Accra Sports Stadium to see George Ashie (23-3-1, 16 KOs) Tagoe, and Emmanuel Tagoe 18-1, 8 KOs, slug it out.
There will be the final press conference soon after the fight at the press centre of the stadium. Following that will be the after-party at a yet to be known venue.
