......for IBF AMEPG title
All is set for the Big Bash
Boxing tourney next weekend in Ghana when two of the country’s finest boxers, the up and coming sensational Richard Commey taking on compatriot and hard hitting Bilal Mohammed for the IBF Africa, Middle East & Persian Gulf (IBF AMEPG) Lightweight crown.
The two meet at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 8 on the undercard of former IBF Bantamweight champion, Joseph Agbeko versus Luis Melendez bout for the IBO Bantamweight belt, an event that will also be the first ever promotion of the newly launched Fresh King Entertainment syndicate. Highly rated Commey boasts a 100% record (14-0, 14 KOs) but faces the biggest test of his career in the vastly experienced Bilal Mohammed (24-5, 20 KOs) in what is billed to be one of the toughest undercard fights on the March 8 boxing extravaganza in Accra.
Richard Commey, managed and promoted by Michael Amoo-Bediako, the man who makes his living in Europe based in the UK, has eyed this and more titles for quite a while but in Bilal who lost a bid for the Commonwealth Lightweight belt only last year to countryman George Ashie, this is the moment he must show the whole world that he is not a finished article yet by beating the younger Commey to claim the IBF Intercontinental title.
According to the IBF Africa President, Onesmo Ngowi, “the tournament will bring to fore the long time rivalry between the two camps as the IBF make an aggressive establishment to this West African boxing enclave, formerly Gold Coast!”
