Father and trainer of Isaac Dogboe (17-0, 11 KOs), Paul Dogboe says despite Cesar Juarez (20-5, 15 KOs) being a durable boxer he has not fought someone like his son.
Dogboe and Juarez will battle each other on January 6th for the vacant interim WBO World super bantamweight belt at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, Ghana.
However, many boxing pundits have predicted a convincing win for Juarez who is a Mexican.
But according to senior Dogboe, his son has all the needed qualities to beat Juarez for the title at stake.
“Cesar Juarez is a very good boxer, he is a durable boxer and he is a warrior but he has never fought anybody like Isaac Dogbo before,” Paul exclusively told Ghanacrusader.com.
“Isaac was Carl Frampton’s [former world champion] sparring partner for a very long time. Isaac was Leo Santa Cruz’s [WBA World featherweight champion] sparring partner and these guys couldn’t shake the foundation of Isaac.”
“So come on January 6th you will surely know that the God of Abraham is behind Isaac. Everybody is saying Isaac is the underdog, Cesar Juarez is the big thing, so that is why we chose the fight. We know when we beat Cesar Juarez it is going to change the life of Isaac Dogboe, that is why we are fighting him and we will beat him.”
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old pugilist and his father /trainer, Paul Dogboe, are currently in UK preparing feverishly for the fight dubbed “Battle of the Gold Coast.”
They will return to the country in mid-December to round off preparations against the Mexican.
