Abigail Quartey, one of the female boxers in the country has said, female boxers are capable of performing on the international scene if given the needed support.

According to Quartey, who missed the chance to represent Ghana at the last African Games due to limited slots, said, though the sport was male-dominated, the few females in the sport have proven to be good enough to excel if given the needed guidance and support.

She said there as the need for better preparations and development of more female boxers for such events.

Dr. Sathoud missed the direct qualification when she lost 0-5 to Gramane Rady Adosinda of Mozambique in the middleweight division at the semi-final stage.
