Accra, Oct. 25, GNA - Members of the United Kingdom-based Haringey Boxing Club are expected to arrive in the country on Tuesday, October 26, to engage the Africa Golden Gloves Warrior team in an international boxing tournament in Accra.
The team made up of eight boxers and six officials will touch at the Kotoka International Airport at 20h00 GMT aboard a British Airways flight.
Gideon Quartey, Chairman of Dade Boxing Syndicate and local representative of the AGGW told GNA Sports that a Press Conference has been fixed for October 27 at the Prisons Canteen, Cantonments for the team to outline details of their program during their stay in the country.
He said the first contest will be staged at the Salenko Club, near Osekan Beach Resort on Wednesday, October 27 with the final test coming off on Saturday, October 30 at the Prisons Canteen, Cantonments. Quartey said the boxers expected include Kingsley Okolie (76kg), Mark McKiernan (79Kg), Andre Whyte (60kg), Adrian Yeboah (57kg), Nick Parpa (86kg), Tope Omisore (93kg) and Davud Cinko (71kg). Okolie and Cinko will be making their third appearances in Ghana after earlier bouts against the Greater Accra Amateur Boxing team in 2008 and 2009. 25 Oct. 10
