Former IBF World Welterweight Champion, Joshua ‘The Hitter’ Clottey (39-5, 22 KOs), has reiterated his determination to win another world title for Ghana, as he relishes a great comeback on the boxing scene.
Clottey, has not had many bouts over the past few years considering his illustrious boxing with the many boxing enthusiasts calling for his retirement.
But Clottey says he has a lot to offer Ghana boxing and is already looking for to next bout in September as he is vigorously preparing to face his unnamed challenger, with negotiations still ongoing.
In an interview with GNA Sports, Clottey said, “i’m preparing towards my next bout in September. I am always active because boxing is not about waiting to have a bout before you train. I train always and ready for any fight. My manager team is negotiating a new contract and by September, i would step into the rind.
Clottey last bout was against Gabriel Rosado back, where he lost by via unanimous decision at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, USA.
Ghana can now boast of two world champions, after Dogboe wrestled the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) super bantamweight belt from Jessie Magdaleno with Emmanuel Tagoe also holding onto his International Boxing Organization (IBO) World Lightweight title.
