.....after breaking into WBA top 10 ratings
World title chasing Emmanuel Omari Danso popularly nicknamed Kwahu Tyson is knocking hard on the doors to championship glory after breaking through to the number 9 position on the latest WBA ratings for Light Heavyweight boxers.
Danso who claimed the WBA Pan Africa Light Heavyweight title back in July says the next step is to challenge for the world title itself. And the dream couldn’t have come any closer following the Ghanaian strongman’s entry into the top ten in the world rankings in his weight as released by the WBA last month.
Nobody reposes as much confidence in Kwahu Tyson than his uncle who also doubles as his manager, Kwame Acheampong AKA To Be who is once again leading the crusade that his protégé is up and ready for world glory. “I have massive confidence in Danso, he is ready to fight for the world title even today. He is in good shape and training very well and improving every day. We are ready to give him all the support necessary, all he has to do is work hard,” Mr. Acheampong told www.sportsinghana.com exclusively. Preaching caution however is Ofori Asare, the astute trainer of Danso who says his fighter may need one more big test before challenging for the world championship and acknowledges that they have to speed up their training and work.
“It’s a big challenge because to be the number 9 ranked means he can fight for the world title, so it means we have to get him ready, so I’m going to put pressure on him to work harder. His managers have a plan to let him defend the WBA Africa title, and I think that should be our focus now,” Coach Asare told us.
The experienced trainer however says Kwahu Tyson will be ready should incumbent champion, Beibut Shumenov decide to give him a shot at the title: “We are ready, why not? It’s the ultimate aim, and we are always ready. But it’s also good if it delays because he will be more ready.”
