Ministry wishes Agbeko well

Accra, Aug. 11, GNA - The Ministry of Youth and Sports, has on beha= lf of the Government and people of Ghana sent a goodwill message to International Boxing Federation (IBF) Bantamweight Champion, Joseph Agbeko as he takes on Abner Mares on Saturday, August 13th at Hard Rock in Las Vegas, United States of America (USA) in a world title unification bout.

A statement issued from the Public Relations Department of the Ministry on behalf of the Minister, Clement Kofi Humado, said the fight is an opportunity for the Ghanaian to put his name in the Boxing Hall of Fame by unifying the IBF and World Boxing Council (WBC) titles.

"I know this is a difficult fight but I'm very confident 91King Kong' will win the fight by a technical knockout and bring laurels to the nation". The statement noted. Humado assured that government was solidly behind Agbeko and would as usual offer its support and commitment for him to bring the title and praye= d for him to succeed in the fight.

He urged him to work hard to ensure that he is physically and mentally prepared for the fight on Saturday while urging the coaches to work hard to ensure that he is mentally prepared before the fight.

The Minister appealed to every Ghanaian to remember Agbeko in their prayers as usual to enable him bring home the ultimate title to Ghana.
