Mortein Boxing League enters seventh week

Accra, Jan 8, GNA - The novelty Mortein Boxing league under the auspices of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) enters its seventh week this Saturday, January 10, with interesting pairings at the premises of Metropolitan Television (Metro TV).

This weekend's event could decide the eventual winner of the league, which is at its closing stages with only two major events remaining.

A statement from the GBA signed by Peter Assandoh said, the seventh week event would involve a total of five bouts.

The first bout for the night would be a Bantamweight clash between Herbert Quartey of Akotoku Academy and Alfred Quaye from the Believers boxing Gym, which would be followed by a Super featherweight bout between Martin Ahiadkeye of Attoh Quarshie and Prince Doku Junior of the Billy Kotey Memorial Boxing club.

In another Welterweight fight, Lartei Mafia of Sagacious Boxing Clubs would take on Bamayie Mohammed of the Black Panthers, to be followed by a Super Welterweight bout between Issah Akrong of Wisdom Boxing Club and Baba Musah of Flames.

The night's event rounds up with a third Welterweight fight, featuring Fire Anthony of Fit Square versus Godwin Cudjoe of Panix Boxing club.
