Neequaye fights for NABA title on Friday

US based Ghanaian boxer, Samuel Kotey Neequaye’s fight scheduled for last Friday April 5 was cancelled at the last minute as the opponent pulled out but Sportsinghana.com can exclusively report that the undefeated Neequaye is now fighting for a bigger title this upcoming Friday, April 12 in the US.

Neequaye, a product of the Attoh Quarshie Boxing Club who featured for Ghana at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing was billed to fight Peruvian Jonathan Maicelo for the vacant USBA Lightweight belt but has now been rescheduled to take on Edward Valdez for the North America Boxing Association (NABA) Lightweight title. Kotey Neequaye (18-0, 14 KOs) faces the sternest test of his world championship credentials against the 34 year old Valdez of New York on Friday night at the Dover Down Casino, Delaware. The boxer is therefore asking Ghanaians for their prayers and support amid promising to claim a first of many victorious on the way to realizing the childhood dream of becoming a boxing world champion.
