OMP and Agbeko sign MoU to show live

March 8 fight It is official. Optimum Media Prime (OMP) have reached an agreement with Fresh King Entertainment, promoters of former world champion, Joseph King Kong Agbeko to telecast live on Metro TV the boxer’s upcoming IBO Bantamweight title fight in Accra on March 8. Agbeko takes on Colombian Luis Mendelez for the vacant IBO belt as headline of the maiden promotion of his own newly established Fresh King Entertainment syndicate at the Accra Sports Stadium next weekend and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with OMP in Accra over the weekend to air the fight live to Ghanaians all over the world.

Financial details were not revealed but accordingly, OMP is mandated to promote the fight extensively on their sister television station, Metro TV. This will inculcate weigh-in, pre-fight and post-fight press conferences as well as build-up elements of fight night proper on Metro TV and other platforms outside the country.

“Our commitment to sports at OMP has never been in doubt and once again we are extending that existence in the Ghanaian sports landscape through this upcoming boxing show,” said Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, Managing Director of OMP.

Mr. Arsmtrong-Mortagbe added: “We hope that this collaboration will yield results that will benefit both camps but ultimately benefit the sport of boxing in this country. We remain committed to any other collaboration.”
