Odamattey's Opponent Knows Nothing About Him

Nothingham, UK -- Newark's Carl Greaves is desperate for information about the man he is fighting for the world title.

Greaves is supposed to be meeting Ben Odamattey, from Ghana, for the WBF super-featherweight title at The Arena in Nottingham on April 16. But he can't find out anything about him. "He's a bit of a mystery man. We've been on the web, but it hasn't helped much.

"I don't really care who I fight, but it would help to know what I'm up against.

"I'm in brilliant shape. I've had six weeks to prepare for this and that has made all the difference.

"I've been training in a jacket which weighs two stones to build up my strength. Believe me, that's hard work. But it means I will be spot on the weight."

Manager John Ashton is not fully comitted to the match.

"All we really know about the kid is that he faught Eric Odumassi for the Ghanaian title," he said.

"Details are sketchy to say the least and I would rather Carl didn't fight him. Boxers from Ghana are always hard, hungry fighters.

"But he is the mandatory, challenger so our hands are tied.

"I've got a few feelers out but we really need to find his proper record.

"If we turned the fight down, and someone else stepped in and knocked him out, we would look foolish, wouldn't we?"
