Osumanu Adama backs Agbeko to be champ again

US based Ghanaian boxer Osumanu Adama is solemnising with immediate past IBF Bantamweight champion Joseph King Kong Agbeko to return stronger and become a world champion again. Adama popularly called Machine Gun says Agbeko just had a bad day at the office in his last fight where he lost a one-sided unanimous decision to Mexican Abner Mares in their rematch.

“Agbeko has done a lot of good for Ghana. That day was not his day, he will come back, I know he will learn. That day was not his day at all, we all know how he fights. Look at the first fight and this fight, sometimes things change. I felt so bad when our champ lost the fight,” Adama told ALL SPORTS from his US base.

Adama who fights experienced Australia Sam Soliman next month, is also against suggestions that Agbeko has outgrown his corner and that he needs to changes trainers.

Adama told us: “You can bring coaches to help but the most important thing is who u started with. It’s not about the coach bro, its about him. We all do extra training some time, doing your own training in the gym you need to do more. I know he’s a good fighter and he will be back as champ again.”
