Quartey dares Quaye

*in Africa Golden Gloves boxing cracker Friday*

The stage is set and battle lines drawn as amateur fight action returns to the Prisons Canteen in Osu, Accra this Friday night, June 7 as Aziz Quartey of the Black Panthers Gym faces Robert Quaye of Wisdom Gym in the welterweight headliner that promises fireworks.

Gideon Quartey, President of the Africa Golden Gloves Warriors organizers of the weekly amateur boxing showpiece which seeks to identify the weights of the various boxers and harnessing them towards future success, is putting at stake one hundred Ghana Cedis (GH¢100) winner-takes-all incentive for the two boxers in a bid to bring out the best in them.

The duo fought a grueling tough battle back on May 24 at the same venue that was closely edged by Quaye but the excitement and unstoppable action witnessed as both set of supporters of the two pugilists inspired Mr. Gideon Quartey to call for a rematch. The Africa Golden Glove Warriors chief believes both boxers have the potential to become world beaters and is convinced Friday night’s impending rematch will bring out the best in them especially with what at stake will amazingly be the biggest ever payday for the victor.

“We want to see how competitive the boys are and I think the GH¢100 will boost their morale to give us a good fight. We are nurturing them and I will not be surprised to see them soon in any of the national teams,” Gideon Quartey told www.sportsinghana.com exclusively.

All roads thereby lead to the outskirts of the Prisons Canteen this Friday night with fight fans assured of competitive and action-packed boxing extravaganza featuring not less than eight fights topped of course by the clash between Robert Quaye and Aziz Quartey.
