Ace sports photographer, Ray Demski has donated some boxing equipment to gyms and clubs in the boxing hub of the country, Bukom and James Town.

Demski, a Canadian residing in Germany who is currently shooting a documentary on Bukom Boxing, said he was touched by the great talents and passion for boxing in Ghana, but was saddened by the fact that they do not have some basic kits for training, especially the kids, who had to use equipment from their seniors.

He said the performance of the juvenile boxers was awesome and amazing.
According to him, Ghana is blessed with great sports talents, as he saw most children playing football, basketball, running at the beach and boxing in gyms without much equipment.

He commended coaches like Wadada, Ofori Asare, Napoleon Tagoe, Akai Nettey, Sowah Thompson, Carl Lokko, Quartelai Quartey, Charles Quartey, and Swizz for their devotion and dedication to the sport and teaching others to make it.

Some of the gyms he visited and donated gloves and bandages to are Attoh Quarshie, Bronx, Bukom, Charles Quartey Foundation, Wisdom and the beach boxing clubs.

He said Ghana has a lot of potential and a bright future.
He called on the administrators, managers and media to do more to support the budding talents.

Coach Carl Lokko of Bronx Gym thanked Demski for his gesture, and said the Ghanaian boxers and trainers are grateful for the gift, which will go a long way in producing more boxing champions for the nation.

Ray Demski said he was looking forward to meet some personalities like the president of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), president of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Prof Azumah Nelson, Ike Quartey, president of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation (GABF), and president of Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG).

He also commended Ghanaian boxers who have been recently rated by the Commonwealth Boxing Council (CBC) and the World Boxing Council (WBC) for honouring Azumah Nelson, the living legend of Ghana Sports.

He praised the Women In Sports Association (WISA), an NGO led by Madam Gloria Commodore, also for recognising and awarding distinguished sports personalities.
